Frog’s Legs Recipe
In honor of Leap Year, today is Frog’s Legs Day! To celebrate, here’s a recipe for fried frog’s legs. Unfortunately, I don’t have access to frog’s legs to try this one out. In fact, the only place I’ve ever seen frog’s legs on the menu was outside of Poverty Point, Louisiana (which is actually a UNESCO World Heritage Site and well worth the visit if you’re ever in the area). We didn’t end up getting the frog’s legs, but were adventurous enough to get the alligator. Very gamey.
The recipe above is interesting because you boil the legs first and then you cover them in breading a fry them up. I’ve never seen this done for frying meat before.
Happy National Frog’s Legs Day! (And Leap Year)
At first, I thought the recipe was saying to boil the live frogs first, then take off the legs!!!
