American Domestic Cookery ~1819

Time for a new cookbook! We finished off The art of cookery made plain and easy, 1805, it was heavy on the meat butchery and dressing of meat. Which I enjoy as much as the next person, but I’m simply not in the position to go out and butcher me a pig… My life is just too urban.

So, now we have American Domestic Cookery, by A Lady – profiling the many cuts of beef from your cow.

The Table of Contents are arranged by category, not alphabetically. You’ll find that this covers pretty much everything that you will need to run the household – I’m particularly looking forward to the pickling chapter as fall harvests begin!
