Recipe for Nettles.
Nettles? Anyone? The health benefits of nettles are well known – something of a cure all and immune booster. I had them for the first time about a month ago at a local winery’s celebrity chef cook-off. It was sautéed in yummy goodness and smothered in five spice dressing. Not what typically comes to mind when you think ‘nettle-dinner’.
That said, the above recipe includes something of a savory/sweet twist with the gravy, milk, and sugar. Nice.
Spring is FINALLY here and if you have some in your yard, now is the time to experiment! Their only fault? They are FREE! Get out there and put those kids to work…
This is the first time I’ve actually run into a recipe for nettles. Adding this to my running list of dandelion salad and nasturtium sandwiches.
