
Savory Rice and Cheese Recipe.
Ingredients:
- 1 Cup milk
- 1 Cup cooked rice (brown)
- 1 Egg
- 1 Cup Cheese (shredded)
- 1 Tbsp. butter
- 1/4 tsp. paprika
- 1/2 tsp. salt
Pre-heat oven 350°. Bake for 50 min. in a water bath.
This savory dish comes out very rich. Could be a stand-alone entree with a green salad, or a side dish with grilled chicken breast. Would pair nicely with a crisp white wine, perhaps a Pinot Grigio or a dry Riesling.
Note: If you don’t like a custard texture, use 3/4 cup milk or 1.5 cup rice so that all of the liquid is cooked into the dish (you can see a custard layer in the photo above – about 1/8 inch layer on top of the rice).
