Talk about light, fluffy, tempting, and wholesome Jelly Rolls, Cakes, Biscuits, and other good things! My! But Calumet baking powder certainly beats the band for sure results – for purity, economy, and wholesome bakings. Tell your mother to try the Calumet Baking Powder on the money-back guarantee. Received high awards.

Originally, the cute little cherub doll peeking from behind the edges of a feather cutout caught my interest for this post, but there is an added layer here – a burnt underside to our fluffy, tempting jelly roll…

On the top of the can, it says: “NOT MADE BY THE TRUST”. It comes from Chicago, so I wonder if The Trust refers to some sort of big business corruption? If so, it’s certainly cheeky of Calumet to put the statement on the can. There was the meat trust which dominated the meat packing industry in the early 1900s…but alas, Google had little insight into “baking powder trusts”.

Other guesses?

This one is ripe for commentary on the timelessness of politics and corruption in Illinois.
